If you’re looking for online scripts Australia-wide that any pharmacy can accept, you’re likely seeking ease.

With this, MediLeave stands ready to serve, committed to providing you with an accessible telehealth solution. Whether you need to request online scripts or a different medical document, we connect you to experienced, Australian-registered practitioners, assuring you of compliant and patient-focused care, including online doctor scripts when appropriate.

Sometimes, you need same day scripts fast but can’t visit a clinic.

Getting to a clinic can be challenging, especially since busy work schedules can prevent you from stepping out. When family or carer responsibilities arise, focusing on your health can also be a challenge. In a similar way, study commitments make it difficult to find time.

Long waits and limited after-hours options add to the delay in accessing medications. If you’re in a rural area, distance can also become a real hurdle. Travel time takes away from the day and turns a simple appointment into a time-consuming endeavour.

At times, illness and mobility-limiting conditions can be a barrier on their own, especially when you’re dealing with a flu, migraine and other kinds of headache. The energy needed to get dressed and leave the house might not be there. Given this, you need a platform and solutions that respect your realities, along with an online doctor Australia-based locals can trust.

We provide a clear, secure process for requesting telehealth scripts.

At MediLeave, virtual consultations make it easier to access eScripts in Australia, all without needing to visit a clinic. This way, you can save time and reduce disruptions to work, study or daily routines. Submit your details online with ease, and a doctor reviews your request efficiently, assessing whether online medication scripts fit your needs.

Here, we proudly connect patients to Australian-registered doctors who operate in line with RACGP and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) standards. This network provides a streamlined, responsive process you can trust, with doctors focusing on your well-being and offering timely assistance with the assurance of compliance.

If clinically appropriate, the next step is issuing prescription scripts online. You receive medication documentation conveniently and dependably, tailored to your needs.

The system accommodates both regular and new prescriptions online. To request a single virtual prescription for regular medication, select the “Repeat Prescription” option if you’re running low.

On the other hand, click the “New Prescription” option to speak to a doctor to request a new medication or request a change to a current medication. If appropriate, they can provide you with online scripts Australia-wide. All prescriptions we issue are accepted at your local pharmacy.

Get timely support for everyday health needs without affecting your daily schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

This immediate process for online scripts Australia-wide supports general and everyday healthcare needs. However, if you face a medical emergency, going to your nearest emergency department and calling 000 should be your priority.

Are all medications available for prescription online?

Not all medications can be secured through telehealth. Some medications, such as weight loss injections, pain medicines and S8 medications (including Ritalin, Concerta and Vyvanse), fall outside the scope of doctor scripts online.

The approval of online scripts Australia-wide relies on a doctor’s clinical evaluation to determine your safety and suitability. As such, all our healthcare practitioners are AHPRA-accredited and adhere to RACGP standards, assuring you of professional and compassionate care when it comes to online prescriptions.

Can I get a medical certificate and an online script at the same time?

Yes, our platform allows you to obtain both during one consultation. If you are unwell and unable to work or study, a doctor may consider whether you need both a medical certificate and a prescription based on your condition.

This simultaneous access simplifies meeting your medical documentation needs without disrupting your routine. However, keep in mind that each document is dispensed only when deemed clinically appropriate by the doctor.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about our telehealth services

At MediLeave, you can request instant scripts online at any time, as our bookings are available 24/7.

A doctor will review each request to assess the situation and determine whether a prescription or specialist referral online is clinically appropriate, ensuring that care remains safe, responsible and based on individual needs.

When requesting online prescriptions or eScripts in Australia, you will need to provide a few key details, such as your personal information and a short summary of your health concern or request.

It is also a requirement in Australia that, in order to receive an eScript, you must either have a Medicare number or an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI). This is because your identity needs to be verified through the national healthcare system.

If you don’t have either of these, you can still have a telehealth consultation and receive a paper prescription instead.

Getting an IHI is the workaround if you want a digital prescription. You can still apply for an IHI online via myGov using an ID like a passport, even if you’re:

  • a visitor
  • an international student
  • not eligible for Medicare

Once you have an IHI, you can use eScripts like anyone else.

Even with access to the best online doctor Australia has to offer, script consultations are conducted privately on a one-on-one basis, ensuring a personal and discreet experience.

At MediLeave, users join a queue and receive a direct call from a doctor, allowing the discussion to remain confidential. All information provided is treated as personal and sensitive health data in line with Australian privacy laws.

To support data protection, we use 256-bit bank grade security and encryption to protect your personal and medical information throughout the consultation process.

For repeat prescriptions, your pharmacist will send you a new QR code after each repeat is dispensed. This happens until all the repeats are complete, so you will need to keep the new message until it’s time to get your medicine again.

If you accidentally delete a message with a QR code you will need to go back to your doctor to ask for a new eScript, just like you would if you lost a paper script.

Yes. Your details and script are kept private and secure through encryption (a secure way of sending information). Your script can only be ‘unlocked’ by a pharmacist.

Our team of Partner Doctors are fully registered Australian doctors who can prescribe any medication that is clinically appropriate for your needs. All our doctors follow AHPRA guidelines to ensure safe and responsible care.

Please note that some medications cannot be prescribed via a telehealth consultation such as S8 medications, controlled substances, narcotics or any controlled drugs and medications requiring close monitoring by a doctor. Our partner doctors reserve the right to decline prescribing any medication or refusing to provide Medical Certificates, based on their professional medical advice.

At MediLeave we uphold the highest standards of healthcare. Online Prescriptions will only be issued if deemed appropriate by our doctors.

There are various reasons why you may be declined access for a prescription, and the doctor has the authority to decline your request if they determine that it is not in your best interest or suitable for your condition. Other reasons could be due to contraindications, your medical history or the absence of a definitive diagnosis. In such circumstances, the doctor will recommend an alternative treatment that is better suited to you or recommend that you seek further assistance and advice in person.

1. First of all, check with the doctor that they have your correct details- a typo on your phone number or email can create this problem. Sometimes there might have been an issue with internet/ wi-fi connection at the moment the eScript was sent, and it might take a few minutes to come through to you.

2. If it still does not arrive, the doctor can double check on their side to see if there was an issue with sending it (this can happen if there is a problem with a person’s Medicare details or “IHI” number (individual health identifier).

3. If the issue still persists the doctor may try to “re-send” it to you, and see if that works.

4. If this still fails, please email our team : info@medileave.com.au for assistance.

Yes, most community pharmacies accept electronic prescriptions (escripts) An eScript is a digital version of a paper script, which the doctor sends you to your phone/email as a QR code or token. Whilst most pharmacies accept and can process escripts, it is best to check with the pharmacy if they are able to accept escripts as some small pharmacies, for example, may not be equipped to process escripts yet.

Yes, if you are a carer or guardian, although the patient needs to provide their consent to the doctor.

Our Partner Doctors cannot prescribe Schedule 8 (S8) or Schedule 4D (S4D) medications via telehealth.

Once the doctor approves your prescription during your consultation, the script is sent instantly via sms or email to you, within minutes
