Request An Online Sick Certificate For Absences Now
Online sick certificate access simplifies the process of obtaining necessary medical documentation for leave. MediLeave, a leading Australian telehealth platform, provides convenient access to quality and affordable healthcare services that let you get a sick certificate online when clinically appropriate.
Get a practical way to document a legitimate leave.
An online sick certificate offers a convenient solution for those who are genuinely unwell. It’s an online medical certificate reviewed and issued by a practitioner for when you can’t make it to work or school. It can also support carer’s leave when you need to look after a family member or household member who is unwell and injured or requires support.
Our Australian telehealth platform makes it easy to connect with practitioners for online healthcare and get the medical documentation you need. You can consult a doctor to assess symptoms and receive medical advice or treatment plans, all without stepping out of your home.
This kind of service suits Australians who need accessible, affordable support for non-emergency, everyday health concerns, especially when they need a legitimate illness certificate, a prescription or a specialist referral online. Our role is in helping bridge the gap between people and healthcare access, so support can fit more easily around the day-to-day realities.
We understand that leaving home can be difficult.
Waking up feeling unwell can make even the simplest tasks seem daunting. Cold and flu symptoms, gastric bugs, migraines and unexpected flare-ups can leave you feeling drained, both physically and mentally. During these moments, an instant sick certificate becomes a helpful tool. It allows you to secure appropriate documentation without the added stress of enduring a tiring journey to a clinic.
Life doesn’t always fit neatly within standard 9-to-5 clinic hours. Occasionally, you need documentation at unconventional times, be it early in the morning or late at night. With our platform, you have the flexibility of requesting a medical leave certificate 24/7 online, which is useful if you’re looking for a priority doctor for telehealth consultation service.
MediLeave sick leave certificate requests are also reviewed quickly. On average, processing only takes between minutes and an hour, which makes a big difference when you need to promptly notify your employer, lecturer or institution.
Our online sick certificate service helps you feel confident about getting help.
Secure your peace of mind with our rigorous data protection.
When it comes to medical certificate telehealth services, we understand that some people may have concerns regarding data privacy. This is the reason why we employ 256-bit bank-grade encryption to safeguard your personal and medical details, ensuring they stay confidential and secure.
Cost confidence is crucial when you get a doctor note for sick leave documentation.
Clarity in cost structure can ease decision-making when seeking quick support with a doctor certificate online or even other services, such as a blood test referral online. Our flat-fee pricing model simplifies the financial aspect, providing transparency before you begin the process.
For many, this often translates into a more affordable solution than visiting a clinic out-of-pocket. Our clear pricing gives you one less factor to worry about and lets you focus on your health.
Our user-friendly platform makes online sick certificate requests simple.
Ease of use can significantly shape your experience, especially if telehealth is new to you. We have designed our platform with easy navigation to minimise hurdles for first-time users. Whether you’re dealing with illness, fatigue or simply a lack of time, the simplicity of our interface helps keep the process stress-free.
Assistance should also always be accessible if uncertainties arise. Rather than spending time looking for the best online doctor Australia has to offer, reach out via email or phone when you need support.

Can I get another online sick certificate even if I just recently got one?
It all depends on your condition if you need another online consultation for a medical certificate. If you believe you need to extend your sick leave, our doctors can reassess your situation and may issue another online sick certificate if it’s suitable.
It is also important to note that if your symptoms worsen or do not improve, then you need to seek medical assistance or consult a doctor in person.
Are online medical certificates legal and valid for work in Australia?
Yes – online medical certificates are valid and legal and are the same as certificates obtained in-person. The only difference is online medical certificates are provided virtually. With MediLeave your symptoms and request for an online medical certificate is reviewed, considered and signed by an AHPRA-Registered Doctor/Healthcare professional. The Fair Work Act 2009 recognises them as legit documents that are acceptable for sick or carer’s leave. Read the Australian Medical Association’s guidelines here.

Why wasn’t I issued a certificate?
At MediLeave we are committed to providing exceptional healthcare tailored to each individual patient. While we strive to accommodate all requests, the approval and issuing of the certificate is at the sole discretion of the reviewing Healthcare Professional and can be declined if they believe that an in-person consultation is required for your case for further evaluation and further recommendations. Additionally, it is against Australian law to issue a certificate if they do not believe your symptoms make you unfit for work or university, or if they have reason to believe you are untruthful about your symptoms.

To uphold professional standards and ensure accuracy, certificates must be dated according to the actual day of the consultation.
Will my employer accept the certificate?
Generally, yes. Your employer is likely to accept your medical certificate as evidence of your illness or injury. According to Fair Work Ombudsman, employers in Australia are legally required to accept medical certificates from registered medical practitioners to verify an employee’s absence due to illness or injury. MediLeave’s telehealth medical certificates are valid, containing the necessary information and are issued by qualified AHPRA registered medical practitioners. Some employers though may have their own policies in regards to sick leave certificates, and you should check with your employer first if an online medical certificate is acceptable by them.
