We make fast, doctor-approved telehealth care possible.

Speak to Australian-registered doctors through secure online consultations.

With our online script service, you consult with Australian-based doctors registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Every consultation guarantees a level of care comparable to a traditional in-person visit, giving you confidence knowing you’re in professional hands. The process ensures your medical consultations remain professional, high-quality and compliant with Australian Medical Board standards.

Your online GP consultation for prescriptions will happen over secure phone or video calls, ensuring privacy and protection of your health information.

After all, we treat your data with the utmost importance, adhering to stringent privacy policies as you get online prescriptions. Your sensitive information benefits from 256-bit, bank-grade encryption. It’s the same level of security used in financial systems to prevent any unauthorised access, both when data is transmitted and stored.

The process is simple, from request to consultation to receiving an eScript.

Requests move swiftly, often within 60 minutes, allowing for timely medical attention for everyday and non-emergency matters.

Once you submit your request, a real-time consultation follows. If you are deemed suitable for one, a prescription is sent directly to your SMS or email inbox, ready to be presented to any pharmacy. This fast turnaround makes life easier for those who need electronic prescriptions in Australia for their medical concerns.

We support a wide range of health needs while maintaining prescribing standards.

MediLeave covers a broad spectrum of needs when it comes to online GP prescriptions, assisting with starting new medications, adjusting existing treatments or managing repeat scripts.

A telehealth consultation for online scripts involves a thorough review of your medical history, symptoms and current medications before decisions are made. This approach ensures practical and prompt management of chronic conditions or everyday health concerns, avoiding unnecessary delays.

Prescriptions are only issued if clinically appropriate, ensuring professional and compliant care.

Doctor online prescriptions must align with clinical standards and legal requirements, focusing on patient safety.

When you get prescriptions online through our platform, these are issued solely at the doctor’s discretion, following a thorough consultation in line with Australian telehealth guidelines.

At times, if the doctor believes that a requested prescription is not suitable for your health needs, or there are restrictions in prescribing a particular medicine, they may refer you for a face-to-face assessment or prescribe an alternative medication better suited to your needs.

But by prioritising appropriate care, we uphold a responsible, trustworthy telehealth experience.

You can also request online medical certificates during your consultation.

Beyond online pharmacy prescriptions, we let you request certified online medical certificates during your consultation. This capability offers an all-in-one service to manage both treatment and documentation needs seamlessly. Qualified Australian doctors can issue a medical certificate for sick leave after an appropriate assessment, ensuring compliance with standard requirements.

Care that fits your lifestyle is within reach.

With our platform, you can also access care from virtually anywhere. Whether you’re at home, on a work break or travelling, a qualified Australian doctor is just a call away, helping you get prescriptions online with ease and convenience.

No more waiting rooms or clinic visits. No more commuting when you’re feeling too sick or too exhausted to leave the house. This flexibility meets your needs promptly, allowing you to prioritise health without disrupting your routine.

With our prescription service online, everything is streamlined for you, making healthcare accessibility a breeze.

Doctors are available from 7am to 11pm AEST every day, with no extra after-hours fees.

Our virtual doors are open from early morning until late at night, every day of the week. This means you can speak with a doctor online at times that fit your unique schedule, and that includes the weekends.

Extended access provides more opportunities to seek timely medical advice, significantly benefiting those with busy lives. Plus, consultations, whether they’re for eScripts or even something like an online pathology request, come with the additional benefit of no after-hours fees. This keeps your healthcare both accessible and affordable.

When you need care, we’re ready when you are.

Telehealth services are designed to offer same-day access, helping reduce delays.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about our telehealth services

At MediLeave, you can request instant scripts online at any time, as our bookings are available 24/7.

A doctor will review each request to assess the situation and determine whether a prescription or specialist referral online is clinically appropriate, ensuring that care remains safe, responsible and based on individual needs.

When requesting online prescriptions or eScripts in Australia, you will need to provide a few key details, such as your personal information and a short summary of your health concern or request.

It is also a requirement in Australia that, in order to receive an eScript, you must either have a Medicare number or an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI). This is because your identity needs to be verified through the national healthcare system.

If you don’t have either of these, you can still have a telehealth consultation and receive a paper prescription instead.

Getting an IHI is the workaround if you want a digital prescription. You can still apply for an IHI online via myGov using an ID like a passport, even if you’re:

  • a visitor
  • an international student
  • not eligible for Medicare

Once you have an IHI, you can use eScripts like anyone else.

Even with access to the best online doctor Australia has to offer, script consultations are conducted privately on a one-on-one basis, ensuring a personal and discreet experience.

At MediLeave, users join a queue and receive a direct call from a doctor, allowing the discussion to remain confidential. All information provided is treated as personal and sensitive health data in line with Australian privacy laws.

To support data protection, we use 256-bit bank grade security and encryption to protect your personal and medical information throughout the consultation process.

For repeat prescriptions, your pharmacist will send you a new QR code after each repeat is dispensed. This happens until all the repeats are complete, so you will need to keep the new message until it’s time to get your medicine again.

If you accidentally delete a message with a QR code you will need to go back to your doctor to ask for a new eScript, just like you would if you lost a paper script.

Yes. Your details and script are kept private and secure through encryption (a secure way of sending information). Your script can only be ‘unlocked’ by a pharmacist.

Our team of Partner Doctors are fully registered Australian doctors who can prescribe any medication that is clinically appropriate for your needs. All our doctors follow AHPRA guidelines to ensure safe and responsible care.

Please note that some medications cannot be prescribed via a telehealth consultation such as S8 medications, controlled substances, narcotics or any controlled drugs and medications requiring close monitoring by a doctor. Our partner doctors reserve the right to decline prescribing any medication or refusing to provide Medical Certificates, based on their professional medical advice.

At MediLeave we uphold the highest standards of healthcare. Online Prescriptions will only be issued if deemed appropriate by our doctors.

There are various reasons why you may be declined access for a prescription, and the doctor has the authority to decline your request if they determine that it is not in your best interest or suitable for your condition. Other reasons could be due to contraindications, your medical history or the absence of a definitive diagnosis. In such circumstances, the doctor will recommend an alternative treatment that is better suited to you or recommend that you seek further assistance and advice in person.

1. First of all, check with the doctor that they have your correct details- a typo on your phone number or email can create this problem. Sometimes there might have been an issue with internet/ wi-fi connection at the moment the eScript was sent, and it might take a few minutes to come through to you.

2. If it still does not arrive, the doctor can double check on their side to see if there was an issue with sending it (this can happen if there is a problem with a person’s Medicare details or “IHI” number (individual health identifier).

3. If the issue still persists the doctor may try to “re-send” it to you, and see if that works.

4. If this still fails, please email our team : info@medileave.com.au for assistance.

Yes, most community pharmacies accept electronic prescriptions (escripts) An eScript is a digital version of a paper script, which the doctor sends you to your phone/email as a QR code or token. Whilst most pharmacies accept and can process escripts, it is best to check with the pharmacy if they are able to accept escripts as some small pharmacies, for example, may not be equipped to process escripts yet.

Yes, if you are a carer or guardian, although the patient needs to provide their consent to the doctor.

Our Partner Doctors cannot prescribe Schedule 8 (S8) or Schedule 4D (S4D) medications via telehealth.

Once the doctor approves your prescription during your consultation, the script is sent instantly via sms or email to you, within minutes
