How do eScripts work?

Getting your medication has never been easier. Here’s how our digital prescription system works.

Receive Your eScript

Instead of handing you a paper script, your doctor sends you a text message or email containing a link to a unique QR code, or token.

1

Show at Any Pharmacy

Your pharmacist scans the QR code on your phone (or tablet) to retrieve the details of your script and fill your medication.

2

Learn more about Allopurinol Prescription Online

The last thing you want, when you're sick or caring for someone, is extra hassle or confusion about securing the correct documents for study, work or family obligations. When your days are full or when you must organise leave quickly and discreetly, visiting clinics or waiting rooms can be difficult to do. Feeling short on time also makes it challenging to set aside the hours for securing a certificate, especially when you have a deadline to catch. During these moments, you can trust MediLeave, an Australian telehealth platform you can utilise to get compliant healthcare documentation and practical support in a clear, reliable way. With the practitioners in our platform being Australian-registered and compliant with RACGP and AHPRA standards, you can rest assured that your care and documentation follow employer and institutional guidelines. Regardless of your location, we focus on providing care that is professional and affordable. Even if you're in a rural area, dealing with mobility challenges or simply balancing work and family, our platform gives you access to timely consultations with a doctor online. And whether you're researching "Allopurinol Prescription Online" or "24x7 Doctor", you'll find clear steps and dependable outcomes here.

When everyday health issues arise, people are often looking for a quick and dependable way to take action. However, waiting for an in-person appointment can make it harder to get a medical certificate, speak with a doctor or request a prescription. MediLeave puts these essential services in one accessible online platform, helping you take care of common healthcare needs entirely online. You can request medical certificates for work, school or carer's leave, including documentation to meet your workplace and institutional requirements. Telehealth consultations are also available, giving you access to experienced doctors, nurses and pharmacists by phone or video consultation. This helps make advice, referrals or treatment guidance easier to access for concerns like allergy flare-ups, rashes, yeast infections and UTIs, without the need to visit a clinic. For ongoing care, you can request new or repeat online prescriptions, with eScripts sent directly to your phone and ready to use at your local pharmacy. By offering these services all in one place, we provide a practical and accessible way to stay on top of your health with confidence, so you can search for "Allopurinol Prescription Online", "After Hours Doctor Keilor Lodge" or "After Hours Doctor Cheltenham" without worry.

MediLeave helps remove uncertainty from the first step. You can submit requests online through our platform at any time, and after a qualified Australian practitioner reviews them, approved outcomes are delivered to your phone by email. Medical certificate requests can be submitted at any time, day or night, providing users with greater flexibility during early mornings, busy workdays or evenings. In most cases, requests are processed in as little as just 60 minutes. Daily same-day telehealth appointments are also offered from 7am to 11pm AEST, without any added fees for after hours and weekends. There is no need to manage strict appointment times, as you can simply join the queue and receive a call from a doctor during your chosen time slot. As we charge a flat fee, you know the cost up front, which means there are no surprise expenses later on. What's more, we keep your personal and medical information protected through our secure platform backed by 256-bit bank-grade encryption. Take note that our service is designed for everyday, non-emergency needs only; if urgent medical care is required, please go to your nearest emergency department or call 000. If you have questions about "Online Doctor Consult" or "Ipswich After Hours Doctors", support is available by phone or email. Book a telehealth consult today and get the service you need, whether you've been curious about "online scripts qld", "online doctor consultation australia" or anything else.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about our telehealth services

At MediLeave, you can request instant scripts online at any time, as our bookings are available 24/7.

A doctor will review each request to assess the situation and determine whether a prescription or specialist referral online is clinically appropriate, ensuring that care remains safe, responsible and based on individual needs.

When requesting online prescriptions or eScripts in Australia, you will need to provide a few key details, such as your personal information and a short summary of your health concern or request.

It is also a requirement in Australia that, in order to receive an eScript, you must either have a Medicare number or an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI). This is because your identity needs to be verified through the national healthcare system.

If you don’t have either of these, you can still have a telehealth consultation and receive a paper prescription instead.

Getting an IHI is the workaround if you want a digital prescription. You can still apply for an IHI online via myGov using an ID like a passport, even if you’re:

  • a visitor
  • an international student
  • not eligible for Medicare

Once you have an IHI, you can use eScripts like anyone else.

Even with access to the best online doctor Australia has to offer, script consultations are conducted privately on a one-on-one basis, ensuring a personal and discreet experience.

At MediLeave, users join a queue and receive a direct call from a doctor, allowing the discussion to remain confidential. All information provided is treated as personal and sensitive health data in line with Australian privacy laws.

To support data protection, we use 256-bit bank grade security and encryption to protect your personal and medical information throughout the consultation process.

For repeat prescriptions, your pharmacist will send you a new QR code after each repeat is dispensed. This happens until all the repeats are complete, so you will need to keep the new message until it’s time to get your medicine again.

If you accidentally delete a message with a QR code you will need to go back to your doctor to ask for a new eScript, just like you would if you lost a paper script.

Yes. Your details and script are kept private and secure through encryption (a secure way of sending information). Your script can only be ‘unlocked’ by a pharmacist.

Our team of Partner Doctors are fully registered Australian doctors who can prescribe any medication that is clinically appropriate for your needs. All our doctors follow AHPRA guidelines to ensure safe and responsible care.

Please note that some medications cannot be prescribed via a telehealth consultation such as S8 medications, controlled substances, narcotics or any controlled drugs and medications requiring close monitoring by a doctor. Our partner doctors reserve the right to decline prescribing any medication or refusing to provide Medical Certificates, based on their professional medical advice.

At MediLeave we uphold the highest standards of healthcare. Online Prescriptions will only be issued if deemed appropriate by our doctors.

There are various reasons why you may be declined access for a prescription, and the doctor has the authority to decline your request if they determine that it is not in your best interest or suitable for your condition. Other reasons could be due to contraindications, your medical history or the absence of a definitive diagnosis. In such circumstances, the doctor will recommend an alternative treatment that is better suited to you or recommend that you seek further assistance and advice in person.

1. First of all, check with the doctor that they have your correct details- a typo on your phone number or email can create this problem. Sometimes there might have been an issue with internet/ wi-fi connection at the moment the eScript was sent, and it might take a few minutes to come through to you.

2. If it still does not arrive, the doctor can double check on their side to see if there was an issue with sending it (this can happen if there is a problem with a person’s Medicare details or “IHI” number (individual health identifier).

3. If the issue still persists the doctor may try to “re-send” it to you, and see if that works.

4. If this still fails, please email our team : info@medileave.com.au for assistance.

Yes, most community pharmacies accept electronic prescriptions (escripts) An eScript is a digital version of a paper script, which the doctor sends you to your phone/email as a QR code or token. Whilst most pharmacies accept and can process escripts, it is best to check with the pharmacy if they are able to accept escripts as some small pharmacies, for example, may not be equipped to process escripts yet.

Yes, if you are a carer or guardian, although the patient needs to provide their consent to the doctor.

Our Partner Doctors cannot prescribe Schedule 8 (S8) or Schedule 4D (S4D) medications via telehealth.

Once the doctor approves your prescription during your consultation, the script is sent instantly via sms or email to you, within minutes
