Instead of handing you a paper script, your doctor sends you a text message or email containing a link to a unique QR code, or token.
Your pharmacist scans the QR code on your phone (or tablet) to retrieve the details of your script and fill your medication.
Digital scripts eliminate errors caused by illegible handwriting, ensuring your pharmacist dispenses exactly what was prescribed.
No need to worry about lost paper. Your script arrives instantly via SMS or email, always accessible on your phone.
Perfect for telehealth consultations. Receive your medication script instantly without needing to visit a clinic in person.
Going digital reduces paper waste, making eScripts a greener choice for you and the planet.

Finding an easy way to access healthcare can feel stressful when someone is unwell, caring for another person or needing to arrange leave quickly. Added to this, many people feel unsure about the legitimacy of online services as an option to access care and whether documents will come on time. MediLeave gives people one less thing to stress about by providing access to a trusted, non-emergency telehealth solution. We connect users with qualified practitioners online: through telehealth, you can speak with a doctor online to discuss symptoms, receive guidance and obtain appropriate medical documentation without disrupting your day. We aim to make healthcare more accessible and affordable, offering a way to get quality care no matter where you are. It is especially helpful for people in rural or remote areas looking up "Electronic Prescriptions" or "E Scripts", as well as those with mobility challenges or anyone managing a busy schedule. All practitioners in our network are Australian-registered and adhere to RACGP and AHPRA standards, so you can feel confident that your care and documentation meet recognised Australian guidelines. When you come to us, you can expect a service centred on affordable care, privacy, professionalism and ease of use.
When organising medical documentation for work, study or carer's leave, finding a quick and dependable service is important. As such, MediLeave makes it simple to request certified online medical certificates, sometimes called doctor's certificates or sick notes, in a format designed to meet workplace and institutional expectations. If the practitioner does not approve your request, we have a 100% money back guarantee, so you're reassured that you have protection from financial risk. For times when you need more support beyond documents, our platform also provides access to telehealth consultations with doctors, pharmacists and nurses. You can get help for common conditions like cold and flu symptoms, hair loss, ear and dental infections, and skin conditions and rashes. Plus, they can assist when you require referrals or travel health guidance. If required, you may even request online prescriptions, including new or repeat scripts, with eScripts sent directly to your phone for collection at a pharmacy. No matter if you've been searching for "Electronic Prescriptions" or want to learn more about options related to "Online Physician Prescriptions" or "Eprescription", we focus on making day-to-day healthcare needs simple, fast and reliable for you.
Control and speed are valuable when unexpected health concerns crop up outside your usual plans. MediLeave lets you submit requests for medical certificates 24/7, so you can choose to start early, during a lunch break or later at night. You can schedule a same-day telehealth consultation from 7am to 11pm AEST too, without added fees for after-hours or weekends. Just submit your request online, enter the queue for a doctor's call and receive the needed guidance during your chosen time slot. Requests for certificates are handled fast, generally within only 60 minutes. In addition, our platform is secured with 256-bit bank-grade encryption to protect your personal and medical information, and flat-fee pricing keeps costs predictable and is often more affordable than paying for clinic visits out of pocket. The platform is also designed to be easy to navigate, helping first-time telehealth users feel more confident throughout the process. If any questions come up while you're researching "Medical Certificate For Sick Leave Reasons" or "Vaccines Required For Travel To Tanzania", assistance is available by phone or email. MediLeave is intended only for non-emergency and everyday healthcare support; for urgent or life-threatening problems, go to your nearest emergency department or call 000. If you've been browsing for "medical certificate for sick leave" or "blood test referral online", book a telehealth consult today.
At MediLeave, you can request instant scripts online at any time, as our bookings are available 24/7.
A doctor will review each request to assess the situation and determine whether a prescription or specialist referral online is clinically appropriate, ensuring that care remains safe, responsible and based on individual needs.
When requesting online prescriptions or eScripts in Australia, you will need to provide a few key details, such as your personal information and a short summary of your health concern or request.
It is also a requirement in Australia that, in order to receive an eScript, you must either have a Medicare number or an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI). This is because your identity needs to be verified through the national healthcare system.
If you don’t have either of these, you can still have a telehealth consultation and receive a paper prescription instead.
Getting an IHI is the workaround if you want a digital prescription. You can still apply for an IHI online via myGov using an ID like a passport, even if you’re:
Once you have an IHI, you can use eScripts like anyone else.
Even with access to the best online doctor Australia has to offer, script consultations are conducted privately on a one-on-one basis, ensuring a personal and discreet experience.
At MediLeave, users join a queue and receive a direct call from a doctor, allowing the discussion to remain confidential. All information provided is treated as personal and sensitive health data in line with Australian privacy laws.
To support data protection, we use 256-bit bank grade security and encryption to protect your personal and medical information throughout the consultation process.
For repeat prescriptions, your pharmacist will send you a new QR code after each repeat is dispensed. This happens until all the repeats are complete, so you will need to keep the new message until it’s time to get your medicine again.
If you accidentally delete a message with a QR code you will need to go back to your doctor to ask for a new eScript, just like you would if you lost a paper script.
Yes. Your details and script are kept private and secure through encryption (a secure way of sending information). Your script can only be ‘unlocked’ by a pharmacist.
Our team of Partner Doctors are fully registered Australian doctors who can prescribe any medication that is clinically appropriate for your needs. All our doctors follow AHPRA guidelines to ensure safe and responsible care.
Please note that some medications cannot be prescribed via a telehealth consultation such as S8 medications, controlled substances, narcotics or any controlled drugs and medications requiring close monitoring by a doctor. Our partner doctors reserve the right to decline prescribing any medication or refusing to provide Medical Certificates, based on their professional medical advice.
At MediLeave we uphold the highest standards of healthcare. Online Prescriptions will only be issued if deemed appropriate by our doctors.
There are various reasons why you may be declined access for a prescription, and the doctor has the authority to decline your request if they determine that it is not in your best interest or suitable for your condition. Other reasons could be due to contraindications, your medical history or the absence of a definitive diagnosis. In such circumstances, the doctor will recommend an alternative treatment that is better suited to you or recommend that you seek further assistance and advice in person.
1. First of all, check with the doctor that they have your correct details- a typo on your phone number or email can create this problem. Sometimes there might have been an issue with internet/ wi-fi connection at the moment the eScript was sent, and it might take a few minutes to come through to you.
2. If it still does not arrive, the doctor can double check on their side to see if there was an issue with sending it (this can happen if there is a problem with a person’s Medicare details or “IHI” number (individual health identifier).
3. If the issue still persists the doctor may try to “re-send” it to you, and see if that works.
4. If this still fails, please email our team : info@medileave.com.au for assistance.
Yes, most community pharmacies accept electronic prescriptions (escripts) An eScript is a digital version of a paper script, which the doctor sends you to your phone/email as a QR code or token. Whilst most pharmacies accept and can process escripts, it is best to check with the pharmacy if they are able to accept escripts as some small pharmacies, for example, may not be equipped to process escripts yet.
Yes, if you are a carer or guardian, although the patient needs to provide their consent to the doctor.
Our Partner Doctors cannot prescribe Schedule 8 (S8) or Schedule 4D (S4D) medications via telehealth.
