Instead of handing you a paper script, your doctor sends you a text message or email containing a link to a unique QR code, or token.
Your pharmacist scans the QR code on your phone (or tablet) to retrieve the details of your script and fill your medication.
Digital scripts eliminate errors caused by illegible handwriting, ensuring your pharmacist dispenses exactly what was prescribed.
No need to worry about lost paper. Your script arrives instantly via SMS or email, always accessible on your phone.
Perfect for telehealth consultations. Receive your medication script instantly without needing to visit a clinic in person.
Going digital reduces paper waste, making eScripts a greener choice for you and the planet.

If you're unwell, caring for others or need to arrange leave on short notice, it can quickly become overwhelming to find time to visit a practitioner. Long wait times, busy schedules and the need for swift documentation often make traditional GP visits impractical, especially when you simply need a certificate for work or study. MediLeave offers a simple, reliable solution by connecting you with a qualified doctor online through a secure platform. We offer fast access to everyday, non-emergency telehealth support and medical documentation. Using telehealth, you can speak with a healthcare professional remotely to discuss your situation, receive advice and obtain compliant medical documentation without leaving your home or rearranging your day. This service is especially helpful for residents of rural or remote areas, anyone with limited mobility, or people managing work, study and family commitments. With our platform, access to care from home, the workplace or while you're on the move anywhere in Australia is made simple. Every practitioner is also Australian-registered and works to AHPRA and RACGP standards, so you can be sure that your care and documentation align with recognised Australian requirements. With our support, you can manage your health needs quickly and with confidence, so if you've been reading up on "E Scripts", we're within your reach.
We built our intuitive platform to move seamlessly with you, not slow you down with unnecessary delays. Access to experienced doctors, pharmacists and nurses is within reach, with telehealth consultations providing a straightforward alternative to in-person appointments. If you're seeking a fast yet trustworthy way to manage common healthcare needs, you can connect with a practitioner about issues such as UTIs, contraception, hayfever and allergy flare-ups, all from home. For those times when you need medical certificates that match workplace, school or university requirements, MediLeave can also provide documentation that's easy to access and backed by a 100% money back guarantee if not approved. Online prescriptions and repeat scripts can even be requested to remove the need for long wait times, with these eScripts sent directly to your phone for use at any pharmacy. Our platform also allows you to access travel health advice, as we can connect you with an online doctor who reviews your plans. As such, you can get tailored medical advice on disease prevention or vaccine eScripts for diseases you may encounter abroad. This comprehensive approach also works when you're discovering more information about "Prescription In Australia" or when you have questions related to "Eprescription".
Our supportive system prioritises your privacy while supporting convenient access. Requests can be submitted online instead of requiring a face-to-face consultation. A qualified Australian practitioner evaluates your request using the information you provide. If approved, your prescription or MediLeave telehealth outcome is sent digitally by email or SMS to your phone for easy access. Likewise, we will email your medical certificate. You stay in control with 24/7 request availability and quick review times, with medical certificates processed in a matter of only 60 minutes on average. Same-day telehealth appointments are offered 7 days a week from 7am to 11pm AEST, with no after-hours or weekend surcharges. There are no waiting rooms or fixed schedules; simply join the queue and a doctor will call you during your selected time slot. Throughout the process, your information is protected through a secure and private platform backed by 256-bit encryption, so you can ask us about "Vaccination Requirements For Egypt Travel" or "Pathology Certificate" knowing your details are safe. Our service is intended for non-emergency and everyday health support only; if you require urgent care, please go to your nearest emergency department or call 000. For any questions about "blood test referral online" or "medical certificate for sick leave", you can contact us by phone or email for assistance. Reach out and connect with a doctor now.
At MediLeave, you can request instant scripts online at any time, as our bookings are available 24/7.
A doctor will review each request to assess the situation and determine whether a prescription or specialist referral online is clinically appropriate, ensuring that care remains safe, responsible and based on individual needs.
When requesting online prescriptions or eScripts in Australia, you will need to provide a few key details, such as your personal information and a short summary of your health concern or request.
It is also a requirement in Australia that, in order to receive an eScript, you must either have a Medicare number or an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI). This is because your identity needs to be verified through the national healthcare system.
If you don’t have either of these, you can still have a telehealth consultation and receive a paper prescription instead.
Getting an IHI is the workaround if you want a digital prescription. You can still apply for an IHI online via myGov using an ID like a passport, even if you’re:
Once you have an IHI, you can use eScripts like anyone else.
Even with access to the best online doctor Australia has to offer, script consultations are conducted privately on a one-on-one basis, ensuring a personal and discreet experience.
At MediLeave, users join a queue and receive a direct call from a doctor, allowing the discussion to remain confidential. All information provided is treated as personal and sensitive health data in line with Australian privacy laws.
To support data protection, we use 256-bit bank grade security and encryption to protect your personal and medical information throughout the consultation process.
For repeat prescriptions, your pharmacist will send you a new QR code after each repeat is dispensed. This happens until all the repeats are complete, so you will need to keep the new message until it’s time to get your medicine again.
If you accidentally delete a message with a QR code you will need to go back to your doctor to ask for a new eScript, just like you would if you lost a paper script.
Yes. Your details and script are kept private and secure through encryption (a secure way of sending information). Your script can only be ‘unlocked’ by a pharmacist.
Our team of Partner Doctors are fully registered Australian doctors who can prescribe any medication that is clinically appropriate for your needs. All our doctors follow AHPRA guidelines to ensure safe and responsible care.
Please note that some medications cannot be prescribed via a telehealth consultation such as S8 medications, controlled substances, narcotics or any controlled drugs and medications requiring close monitoring by a doctor. Our partner doctors reserve the right to decline prescribing any medication or refusing to provide Medical Certificates, based on their professional medical advice.
At MediLeave we uphold the highest standards of healthcare. Online Prescriptions will only be issued if deemed appropriate by our doctors.
There are various reasons why you may be declined access for a prescription, and the doctor has the authority to decline your request if they determine that it is not in your best interest or suitable for your condition. Other reasons could be due to contraindications, your medical history or the absence of a definitive diagnosis. In such circumstances, the doctor will recommend an alternative treatment that is better suited to you or recommend that you seek further assistance and advice in person.
1. First of all, check with the doctor that they have your correct details- a typo on your phone number or email can create this problem. Sometimes there might have been an issue with internet/ wi-fi connection at the moment the eScript was sent, and it might take a few minutes to come through to you.
2. If it still does not arrive, the doctor can double check on their side to see if there was an issue with sending it (this can happen if there is a problem with a person’s Medicare details or “IHI” number (individual health identifier).
3. If the issue still persists the doctor may try to “re-send” it to you, and see if that works.
4. If this still fails, please email our team : info@medileave.com.au for assistance.
Yes, most community pharmacies accept electronic prescriptions (escripts) An eScript is a digital version of a paper script, which the doctor sends you to your phone/email as a QR code or token. Whilst most pharmacies accept and can process escripts, it is best to check with the pharmacy if they are able to accept escripts as some small pharmacies, for example, may not be equipped to process escripts yet.
Yes, if you are a carer or guardian, although the patient needs to provide their consent to the doctor.
Our Partner Doctors cannot prescribe Schedule 8 (S8) or Schedule 4D (S4D) medications via telehealth.
Once the doctor approves your prescription during your consultation, the script is sent instantly via sms or email to you, within minutes
