Instead of handing you a paper script, your doctor sends you a text message or email containing a link to a unique QR code, or token.
Your pharmacist scans the QR code on your phone (or tablet) to retrieve the details of your script and fill your medication.
Digital scripts eliminate errors caused by illegible handwriting, ensuring your pharmacist dispenses exactly what was prescribed.
No need to worry about lost paper. Your script arrives instantly via SMS or email, always accessible on your phone.
Perfect for telehealth consultations. Receive your medication script instantly without needing to visit a clinic in person.
Going digital reduces paper waste, making eScripts a greener choice for you and the planet.

When you're managing work, study or caregiving responsibilities, the last thing you need is extra hassle when health issues arise. We recognise it's tough when you're unwell, looking after someone or suddenly needing to sort leave at the last minute. Plus, waiting rooms and last-minute GP appointments can rearrange your whole day, especially when you just need the right documentation to keep things moving. MediLeave is designed to reduce the burden during these situations, giving you easy access to practitioners through our Australian telehealth platform. We make it easier to connect with professional, compliant medical advice and documentation online without the hassle of travel or rescheduling your day. Our service brings healthcare closer to you, allowing you to quickly connect with a doctor online, whether you're at home, in the office or anywhere your day takes you in Australia. If you live remotely, manage a busy schedule or face mobility constraints, our platform is designed to be accessible and cause less disruption. Whether you're looking into "Doctor Phone" or beyond, all our practitioners are Australian-registered and follow RACGP and AHPRA standards, so you can feel confident your request will be handled with professionalism, clarity and care every time.
When quick, practical medication support matters, we provide a reliable way to request online prescriptions or eScripts without in-person appointments or unnecessary delays. If you would like a new script, a repeat prescription or a medication adjustment, your request can be submitted online using clear step-by-step prompts reviewed by experienced practitioners. If approved, your online prescription or eScript can be sent directly to your phone within minutes, ready to use at a local pharmacy. This option can suit people who need support for existing health conditions or timely assistance with concerns such as erectile dysfunction, allergy flare-ups, cold and flu symptoms, and contraception and birth control. If your needs extend beyond medication, you may receive treatment advice or blood tests and specialist referrals via MediLeave's telehealth consultations with doctors, pharmacists and nurses. Requests for medical certificates for work, school, university or carer's leave are similarly accessible through the same platform and are designed to meet Australian medical guidelines and regulatory standards that institutions and employers recognise. For added peace of mind, requests not approved are backed by a 100% money back guarantee. Plus, you can access an online doctor who can evaluate your travel arrangements and offer targeted medical advice on disease prevention and more. With this approach, we can help you manage everyday healthcare needs more confidently, whether you're searching for "Doctor On Phone" or "Doctor Late For Telehealth".
At MediLeave, accessing routine healthcare is hassle-free, easy and quick. With its intuitive layout, the platform is simple to use even for first-time users. You can send your request online whenever suits you, and same-day appointments are available without needing to book an appointment or visit a clinic. After the submission, a qualified Australian practitioner reviews your information and evaluates your situation. You will receive your prescription or consultation outcome digitally by email or SMS on your phone if approved. You can take full control on this platform, as medical certificate requests are available 24/7 and issued quickly within an hour on average. At MediLeave, we take privacy seriously, using secure 256-bit bank-grade encryption and ensuring doctor consults are private and meet Australian privacy laws. We also offer flat-fee pricing with no additional fees for after-hours or weekend use. This service is designed for everyday, non-emergency needs; if your condition is urgent, go to the nearest emergency department or call 000. At MediLeave, you can request instant scripts online at any time, as our bookings are available 24/7.
A doctor will review each request to assess the situation and determine whether a prescription or specialist referral online is clinically appropriate, ensuring that care remains safe, responsible and based on individual needs.
When requesting online prescriptions or eScripts in Australia, you will need to provide a few key details, such as your personal information and a short summary of your health concern or request.
It is also a requirement in Australia that, in order to receive an eScript, you must either have a Medicare number or an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI). This is because your identity needs to be verified through the national healthcare system.
If you don’t have either of these, you can still have a telehealth consultation and receive a paper prescription instead.
Getting an IHI is the workaround if you want a digital prescription. You can still apply for an IHI online via myGov using an ID like a passport, even if you’re:
Once you have an IHI, you can use eScripts like anyone else.
Even with access to the best online doctor Australia has to offer, script consultations are conducted privately on a one-on-one basis, ensuring a personal and discreet experience.
At MediLeave, users join a queue and receive a direct call from a doctor, allowing the discussion to remain confidential. All information provided is treated as personal and sensitive health data in line with Australian privacy laws.
To support data protection, we use 256-bit bank grade security and encryption to protect your personal and medical information throughout the consultation process.
For repeat prescriptions, your pharmacist will send you a new QR code after each repeat is dispensed. This happens until all the repeats are complete, so you will need to keep the new message until it’s time to get your medicine again.
If you accidentally delete a message with a QR code you will need to go back to your doctor to ask for a new eScript, just like you would if you lost a paper script.
Yes. Your details and script are kept private and secure through encryption (a secure way of sending information). Your script can only be ‘unlocked’ by a pharmacist.
Our team of Partner Doctors are fully registered Australian doctors who can prescribe any medication that is clinically appropriate for your needs. All our doctors follow AHPRA guidelines to ensure safe and responsible care.
Please note that some medications cannot be prescribed via a telehealth consultation such as S8 medications, controlled substances, narcotics or any controlled drugs and medications requiring close monitoring by a doctor. Our partner doctors reserve the right to decline prescribing any medication or refusing to provide Medical Certificates, based on their professional medical advice.
At MediLeave we uphold the highest standards of healthcare. Online Prescriptions will only be issued if deemed appropriate by our doctors.
There are various reasons why you may be declined access for a prescription, and the doctor has the authority to decline your request if they determine that it is not in your best interest or suitable for your condition. Other reasons could be due to contraindications, your medical history or the absence of a definitive diagnosis. In such circumstances, the doctor will recommend an alternative treatment that is better suited to you or recommend that you seek further assistance and advice in person.
1. First of all, check with the doctor that they have your correct details- a typo on your phone number or email can create this problem. Sometimes there might have been an issue with internet/ wi-fi connection at the moment the eScript was sent, and it might take a few minutes to come through to you.
2. If it still does not arrive, the doctor can double check on their side to see if there was an issue with sending it (this can happen if there is a problem with a person’s Medicare details or “IHI” number (individual health identifier).
3. If the issue still persists the doctor may try to “re-send” it to you, and see if that works.
4. If this still fails, please email our team : info@medileave.com.au for assistance.
Yes, most community pharmacies accept electronic prescriptions (escripts) An eScript is a digital version of a paper script, which the doctor sends you to your phone/email as a QR code or token. Whilst most pharmacies accept and can process escripts, it is best to check with the pharmacy if they are able to accept escripts as some small pharmacies, for example, may not be equipped to process escripts yet.
Yes, if you are a carer or guardian, although the patient needs to provide their consent to the doctor.
Our Partner Doctors cannot prescribe Schedule 8 (S8) or Schedule 4D (S4D) medications via telehealth.
Once the doctor approves your prescription during your consultation, the script is sent instantly via sms or email to you, within minutes
