Instead of handing you a paper script, your doctor sends you a text message or email containing a link to a unique QR code, or token.
Your pharmacist scans the QR code on your phone (or tablet) to retrieve the details of your script and fill your medication.
Digital scripts eliminate errors caused by illegible handwriting, ensuring your pharmacist dispenses exactly what was prescribed.
No need to worry about lost paper. Your script arrives instantly via SMS or email, always accessible on your phone.
Perfect for telehealth consultations. Receive your medication script instantly without needing to visit a clinic in person.
Going digital reduces paper waste, making eScripts a greener choice for you and the planet.

When health issues or caring duties suddenly become a concern, you need a service that fits around your life, not the other way round. A lot of people struggle to find time for a clinic visit when work, study or family commitments can't wait, and long queues in waiting rooms increase the stress. Should you have mobility challenges or live outside a major city, those barriers can feel even worse. At MediLeave, we designed our telehealth platform to help Australians access professional care with less hassle. Our telehealth allows you to consult a doctor online or another healthcare practitioner remotely to assess symptoms and discuss appropriate treatment options without attending an in-person appointment. You can consult an Australian-registered practitioner online for compliant, non-emergency, and everyday medical documentation or advice without reorganising your schedule or travelling through town. We focus on removing unnecessary hurdles, helping you access support with confidence that your request will be handled professionally and in line with RACGP and AHPRA standards. Our service is particularly useful when you want reassurance that your documentation and consultations are high-quality and compliant with Australian Medical Board standards. So, whether you're looking up "Prescription Medicine" or "Prescriptions In Australia", we help make it simpler and more dependable to access care.
With MediLeave, you get a practical way to request medical certificates, carer's certificates, telehealth consultations and more without needing to visit a clinic in person. We realise how important it is to secure employer-accepted documentation, particularly when you want a quick and reliable solution for managing common health needs. Our online medical certificates are designed to meet the expectations of employers, schools and universities, with a doctor validating your absence and helping confirm that you've taken the appropriate steps when leave is required. Our service lets you avoid unnecessary delays by letting you act promptly when documentation is needed. If approval is not provided for your request, our 100% money back guarantee offers you added peace of mind as well. Alongside certificates, we also offer telehealth consultations with experienced doctors, pharmacists and nurses by phone or video. Practitioners can help with issues like ear and dental infections, hayfever and allergy flare-ups, gastro-related concerns and erectile dysfunction, plus referrals and general treatment advice. In line with this, you may also get online prescriptions, including new scripts, repeats or medication adjustments, with eScripts sent directly to your phone for use at your chosen pharmacy. We make healthcare access simpler, faster and more reliable, so you can research "Prescriptions In Australia", "Medical Advice Over The Phone" or "After Hours Doctors Lower Hutt" with greater confidence.
With MediLeave, you can have more transparency and control throughout each stage. Complete your request online at your convenience, and a qualified Australian practitioner will review the information you provide. Should it be approved, your medical certificate, prescription or consultation outcome will be sent electronically, either by email or SMS, directly to your phone. Submit medical certificate requests 24/7, giving you extra flexibility on busy workdays, evenings or early mornings. We handle requests promptly, often within only 60 minutes, assisting you in planning your day with confidence. Same-day telehealth consults are available daily from 7am to 11pm AEST, with flat-fee pricing and no additional fees for after-hours and weekend service. There is no need to manage strict appointment times, as you can simply join the queue and receive a call from a doctor during your chosen time slot. Your information is also protected through a secure platform backed by 256-bit bank-grade encryption, while phone and email support is available if questions arise about "Dermatologist Referral", "Uti Script" and more. If urgent medical care is required, please go to your nearest emergency department or call 000. Whether you've been scouring the web for "get a sick certificate online" or "medical certificate online 2 days", speak to a doctor today.
At MediLeave, you can request instant scripts online at any time, as our bookings are available 24/7.
A doctor will review each request to assess the situation and determine whether a prescription or specialist referral online is clinically appropriate, ensuring that care remains safe, responsible and based on individual needs.
When requesting online prescriptions or eScripts in Australia, you will need to provide a few key details, such as your personal information and a short summary of your health concern or request.
It is also a requirement in Australia that, in order to receive an eScript, you must either have a Medicare number or an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI). This is because your identity needs to be verified through the national healthcare system.
If you don’t have either of these, you can still have a telehealth consultation and receive a paper prescription instead.
Getting an IHI is the workaround if you want a digital prescription. You can still apply for an IHI online via myGov using an ID like a passport, even if you’re:
Once you have an IHI, you can use eScripts like anyone else.
Even with access to the best online doctor Australia has to offer, script consultations are conducted privately on a one-on-one basis, ensuring a personal and discreet experience.
At MediLeave, users join a queue and receive a direct call from a doctor, allowing the discussion to remain confidential. All information provided is treated as personal and sensitive health data in line with Australian privacy laws.
To support data protection, we use 256-bit bank grade security and encryption to protect your personal and medical information throughout the consultation process.
For repeat prescriptions, your pharmacist will send you a new QR code after each repeat is dispensed. This happens until all the repeats are complete, so you will need to keep the new message until it’s time to get your medicine again.
If you accidentally delete a message with a QR code you will need to go back to your doctor to ask for a new eScript, just like you would if you lost a paper script.
Yes. Your details and script are kept private and secure through encryption (a secure way of sending information). Your script can only be ‘unlocked’ by a pharmacist.
Our team of Partner Doctors are fully registered Australian doctors who can prescribe any medication that is clinically appropriate for your needs. All our doctors follow AHPRA guidelines to ensure safe and responsible care.
Please note that some medications cannot be prescribed via a telehealth consultation such as S8 medications, controlled substances, narcotics or any controlled drugs and medications requiring close monitoring by a doctor. Our partner doctors reserve the right to decline prescribing any medication or refusing to provide Medical Certificates, based on their professional medical advice.
At MediLeave we uphold the highest standards of healthcare. Online Prescriptions will only be issued if deemed appropriate by our doctors.
There are various reasons why you may be declined access for a prescription, and the doctor has the authority to decline your request if they determine that it is not in your best interest or suitable for your condition. Other reasons could be due to contraindications, your medical history or the absence of a definitive diagnosis. In such circumstances, the doctor will recommend an alternative treatment that is better suited to you or recommend that you seek further assistance and advice in person.
1. First of all, check with the doctor that they have your correct details- a typo on your phone number or email can create this problem. Sometimes there might have been an issue with internet/ wi-fi connection at the moment the eScript was sent, and it might take a few minutes to come through to you.
2. If it still does not arrive, the doctor can double check on their side to see if there was an issue with sending it (this can happen if there is a problem with a person’s Medicare details or “IHI” number (individual health identifier).
3. If the issue still persists the doctor may try to “re-send” it to you, and see if that works.
4. If this still fails, please email our team : info@medileave.com.au for assistance.
Yes, most community pharmacies accept electronic prescriptions (escripts) An eScript is a digital version of a paper script, which the doctor sends you to your phone/email as a QR code or token. Whilst most pharmacies accept and can process escripts, it is best to check with the pharmacy if they are able to accept escripts as some small pharmacies, for example, may not be equipped to process escripts yet.
Yes, if you are a carer or guardian, although the patient needs to provide their consent to the doctor.
Our Partner Doctors cannot prescribe Schedule 8 (S8) or Schedule 4D (S4D) medications via telehealth.
Once the doctor approves your prescription during your consultation, the script is sent instantly via sms or email to you, within minutes
