Instead of handing you a paper script, your doctor sends you a text message or email containing a link to a unique QR code, or token.
Your pharmacist scans the QR code on your phone (or tablet) to retrieve the details of your script and fill your medication.
Digital scripts eliminate errors caused by illegible handwriting, ensuring your pharmacist dispenses exactly what was prescribed.
No need to worry about lost paper. Your script arrives instantly via SMS or email, always accessible on your phone.
Perfect for telehealth consultations. Receive your medication script instantly without needing to visit a clinic in person.
Going digital reduces paper waste, making eScripts a greener choice for you and the planet.

It can feel like you can't pause for a moment during your day when you're sick, caring for someone or organising leave at short notice. You can quickly feel pressured for time when sitting at waiting rooms and heading to clinics in person won't fit into your busy schedule. It can become even more difficult when documentation is promptly needed for work, study, family or carer responsibilities. That's where MediLeave comes in, taking away the added complexity typically associated with traditional processes. To help people get the necessary everyday, non-emergency care and medical documentation, we've created a straightforward Australian telehealth platform. Through our services, you can connect with a doctor online from home, the office or wherever is most convenient, without needing to rearrange your entire day. We prioritise improving access to care for those who live in rural or remote locations or are facing tight schedules or mobility difficulties. Our service also gives you direct access to Australian-registered practitioners and doctors working to RACGP and AHPRA standards. Our approach is designed to be dependable, professional and easy to navigate, helping you feel more confident using telehealth services, so whether you're looking into "Online Repeat Prescription" or "Online Private Prescription", we help make the process easier for you.
With MediLeave, you get a practical way to request medical certificates, carer's certificates, telehealth consultations and more without needing to visit a clinic in person. We recognise that it matters to get employer-accepted documentation, particularly when you need a quick, dependable way to handle everyday healthcare needs. Our online medical certificates meet the standards employers, schools and universities expect, with a doctor who can validate your absence and that you've taken appropriate steps when leave is needed. We support fast access to documentation when required, helping you avoid needless delays. Our 100% money back guarantee even helps reduce risk and provide reassurance if your request is not approved. Alongside certificates, we also offer telehealth consultations with experienced doctors, pharmacists and nurses by phone or video. Practitioners can help with issues like ear and dental infections, hayfever and allergy flare-ups, gastro-related concerns and erectile dysfunction, plus referrals and general treatment advice. In line with this, you may also get online prescriptions, including new scripts, repeats or medication adjustments, with eScripts sent directly to your phone for use at your chosen pharmacy. We make healthcare access simpler, faster and more reliable, so you can research "Online Private Prescription", "Online Prescriptions Qld" or "Online Prescriptions Melbourne" with greater confidence.

Request your telehealth consultation today.
At MediLeave, you can request instant scripts online at any time, as our bookings are available 24/7.
A doctor will review each request to assess the situation and determine whether a prescription or specialist referral online is clinically appropriate, ensuring that care remains safe, responsible and based on individual needs.
When requesting online prescriptions or eScripts in Australia, you will need to provide a few key details, such as your personal information and a short summary of your health concern or request.
It is also a requirement in Australia that, in order to receive an eScript, you must either have a Medicare number or an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI). This is because your identity needs to be verified through the national healthcare system.
If you don’t have either of these, you can still have a telehealth consultation and receive a paper prescription instead.
Getting an IHI is the workaround if you want a digital prescription. You can still apply for an IHI online via myGov using an ID like a passport, even if you’re:
Once you have an IHI, you can use eScripts like anyone else.
Even with access to the best online doctor Australia has to offer, script consultations are conducted privately on a one-on-one basis, ensuring a personal and discreet experience.
At MediLeave, users join a queue and receive a direct call from a doctor, allowing the discussion to remain confidential. All information provided is treated as personal and sensitive health data in line with Australian privacy laws.
To support data protection, we use 256-bit bank grade security and encryption to protect your personal and medical information throughout the consultation process.
For repeat prescriptions, your pharmacist will send you a new QR code after each repeat is dispensed. This happens until all the repeats are complete, so you will need to keep the new message until it’s time to get your medicine again.
If you accidentally delete a message with a QR code you will need to go back to your doctor to ask for a new eScript, just like you would if you lost a paper script.
Yes. Your details and script are kept private and secure through encryption (a secure way of sending information). Your script can only be ‘unlocked’ by a pharmacist.
Our team of Partner Doctors are fully registered Australian doctors who can prescribe any medication that is clinically appropriate for your needs. All our doctors follow AHPRA guidelines to ensure safe and responsible care.
Please note that some medications cannot be prescribed via a telehealth consultation such as S8 medications, controlled substances, narcotics or any controlled drugs and medications requiring close monitoring by a doctor. Our partner doctors reserve the right to decline prescribing any medication or refusing to provide Medical Certificates, based on their professional medical advice.
At MediLeave we uphold the highest standards of healthcare. Online Prescriptions will only be issued if deemed appropriate by our doctors.
There are various reasons why you may be declined access for a prescription, and the doctor has the authority to decline your request if they determine that it is not in your best interest or suitable for your condition. Other reasons could be due to contraindications, your medical history or the absence of a definitive diagnosis. In such circumstances, the doctor will recommend an alternative treatment that is better suited to you or recommend that you seek further assistance and advice in person.
1. First of all, check with the doctor that they have your correct details- a typo on your phone number or email can create this problem. Sometimes there might have been an issue with internet/ wi-fi connection at the moment the eScript was sent, and it might take a few minutes to come through to you.
2. If it still does not arrive, the doctor can double check on their side to see if there was an issue with sending it (this can happen if there is a problem with a person’s Medicare details or “IHI” number (individual health identifier).
3. If the issue still persists the doctor may try to “re-send” it to you, and see if that works.
4. If this still fails, please email our team : info@medileave.com.au for assistance.
Yes, most community pharmacies accept electronic prescriptions (escripts) An eScript is a digital version of a paper script, which the doctor sends you to your phone/email as a QR code or token. Whilst most pharmacies accept and can process escripts, it is best to check with the pharmacy if they are able to accept escripts as some small pharmacies, for example, may not be equipped to process escripts yet.
Yes, if you are a carer or guardian, although the patient needs to provide their consent to the doctor.
Our Partner Doctors cannot prescribe Schedule 8 (S8) or Schedule 4D (S4D) medications via telehealth.
Once the doctor approves your prescription during your consultation, the script is sent instantly via sms or email to you, within minutes
