Step 2: A MediLeave Partner doctor will call you to discuss your request, and if deemed clinically appropriate will send your pathology referral to your email.

Step 3: Your pathology referral can be taken to any pathology collection centre near you.

Step 4: When we receive your results, we will notify you so a doctor can review and discuss them with you . Alternatively we can send them to your GP at your request to discuss.

The time it takes to receive your results depends on the type of test and the lab’s workload. For most routine tests, you will receive your blood test results within 24 – 48 hours. More complex tests can take several days or even weeks. Once your pathology results are ready, they will be sent to the doctor that wrote the referral for you and stored in your MediLeave medical record. We will notify you via email and/or sms that your results are available. You will need to book a follow up telehealth consultation to discuss the results. 

If you requested the MediLeave doctor share the results with your regular GP or another healthcare provider, you can visit your regular GP for your results. Alternatively, you can request that your regular GP contact the pathology laboratory directly to obtain the results.

All consultations are conducted in real-time via telephone or video to assess the clinical need for pathology investigations. Our doctors take a thorough medical history and only order investigations that are clinically indicated.
